What it does for you

Come home with the whole trip.

Record anywhere

Recording works with no signal and the screen locked, so the phone can stay in the console or your pocket.

Forgives a forgotten pause

Set off again after a short stop without un-pausing, and Dirt Map notices you are moving and picks the recording back up.

See the climb

With Pro, look back over the trip’s elevation profile, coloured so the steep bits stand out.

Readable on the map

Give each trip its own colour so it stands out from the others.

No signal, screen locked

Recording works with no mobile signal and keeps going with the screen locked. If the app ever stops mid-trip, Dirt Map offers to recover the recording the next time you open it.

Forgot to un-pause? It has you covered

Pause for a short break, set off again without resuming, and Dirt Map notices you are on the move and picks the recording back up. If you really are still stopped, one tap keeps it paused.

Look back at the climb

With Dirt Map Pro, a saved trip’s elevation profile is coloured by how steep it is, and you can slide along it to see the gradient at any point, with the spot shown on the map. The profile stays on the phone that recorded the trip.

Photos and the tracks you travelled

Photos you take while recording pin on the map where you took them. And Dirt Map lists the named tracks each trip followed, so you can see where you have been.

Trip recording is a record of where you have been, not a safety device. It does not tell anyone where you are. On remote trips, leave your plans with someone at home and carry a paper map and a personal locator beacon (PLB).
