What it does for you

A trip is more than a line on the map.

Photos where they happened

Photos taken while you record pin on the map at the spot you took them, so you can find that creek crossing again.

Everything in one place

Each trip keeps its photos together, so there is nothing to sort or match up when you get home.

No signal needed

Take and add photos with no reception. They are on your phone straight away.

Private to you

There is no shared feed, and the only photo pins on your map are your own.

Photos that remember where they were taken

A photo you take while recording lands on the map as a pin along your track, not in an undated pile, so weeks later you can see exactly where each one was taken. Photos you add afterwards from your camera roll join the trip without a pin.

On trips, track reports, markers and routes

Photos are not only for recordings. Add them to a track report to show what you found, to a marker you drop, or to a route you plan.

They keep working when the signal doesn’t

You do not need reception to add a photo. It is saved on your phone straight away and uploads later, without getting in the way of your trip.

Your photos, and only yours

Your photos are private to your account and show only on your own devices. Hide a trip’s photos from the map whenever you like, or delete any one of them.

Photos you add are stored against your Dirt Map account so they can sync to your own devices, and they use space on your phone. They are private to you and are not shared with other users. Deleting a photo removes it from your phone and, once you are online, from your account.
FAQ

Common questions.

Do photos cost extra?
No. Photos are included in Dirt Map, not a Pro feature.
Can I add photos with no signal?
Yes. A photo is saved on your phone the moment you take it, and uploads on its own later.
How many photos can I add?
Up to twenty on each trip, track report, marker or route.
Which photos pin on the map?
The photos you take while recording a trip pin on the map where you took them. Photos you add afterwards from your camera roll attach to the trip but do not drop a pin.
Can I keep a trip’s photos off the map?
Yes. Each trip has a Show Photos on Map switch. Turn it off and its pins come off the map, and your photos stay saved.
Are my photos private?
Yes. Your photos are stored against your own account and shown only on your devices. There is no shared feed.
Can I search my photos?
No. Photos show with their trip, report, marker or route and on the map, but they are not part of search.
