Before you pay.
Does it really work with no phone signal?
Yes, and that is the point of it. Once a region is downloaded, the map, the 4WD tracks, track search, directions and camp sites keep working with no signal. Searching for addresses and places, satellite imagery, and Pro’s terrain shading and finer 20 m contours need signal.
Three months free — what is the catch?
None. New subscribers get three months of Pro before the first charge — long enough for a summer of trips, not a fortnight of poking around. Cancel before it ends and you pay nothing. If subscriptions are not your thing, Dirt Map Pro LIFETIME is AU$99.99 once and never renews.
How much of it is free?
Your first region is free, and in the regions on your phone the tracks, trails and directions are free. So are camp sites, route planning, recording and file imports, with no account and no trial timer. Rating tracks is free too. Pro adds every other region, terrain shading and finer contours, each track’s distance, climb and difficulty, elevation charts, Insights and CarPlay.
How much space does a region take?
Between about 110 MB for Tasmania and about 615 MB for Queensland, covering the map, contours, the routing graph and the track pack. The Download page lists the exact size of every region.
