What it does for you

Made for out of range.

Works with no signal

With a region on your phone, the map, the tracks, track search and directions keep working when the bars run out.

The whole region

Each region downloads whole, so there is no guessing which parts of it you will need.

One region free

Your first region is free, with no account needed. Dirt Map Pro adds the rest.

Australia and New Zealand

The regions cover every Australian state and territory and both New Zealand islands.

With no signal, search still finds tracks by name.

What keeps working with no signal

With a region on your phone: its map, its 4WD tracks and walking trails, searching tracks by name, and directions. Camp sites work everywhere with no signal, and so do your own trips, routes and markers.

What needs a signal

Searching for addresses and places, and satellite imagery, need signal. The terrain shading and finer contour lines in Dirt Map Pro load over the network too, so count on needing signal for them. Add your regions before you leave.

One region free, the rest with Pro

Your free region is the one you are in when you first open Dirt Map, and it needs no account. Dirt Map Pro unlocks every other region. If Pro ends, those regions lock until it is active again, and your free region keeps working.

Track updates, without the fuss

When the tracks for a region you have are updated, Dirt Map brings the update in while you use the app.

An offline map is a navigation aid, not a substitute for a paper map, a personal locator beacon (PLB), proper trip planning or your own judgement. Download your regions and check them before you leave, and on remote trips carry a paper map and a PLB.
FAQ

What needs a signal?
Searching for addresses and places, and satellite imagery unless you have saved that area with Pro. The terrain shading and finer contour lines in Dirt Map Pro load over the network, so count on needing signal for them.
Which areas are covered?
The regions cover every Australian state and territory and both New Zealand islands, and each one downloads as a whole.
Can I download on mobile data?
Yes. Downloads work on Wi-Fi or mobile data. Regions are large, so Wi-Fi is kinder to your data plan.
Do I need to keep the app open while it downloads?
Yes. If you close it, the download picks up where it left off the next time you open Dirt Map.
What happens to my maps if Pro ends?
Your free region keeps working. Regions you added with Pro lock until Pro is active again.
